Instructions:
Time needed: 15 minutes
- Download and print the template
Print the template and trace the parts of the Guinea pig template on the appropriate craft paper. We used white craft paper for the body; brown & pink for parts of the body like spots and ears.
- Make ears of Guinea pig craft
Glue the inner ear cutouts on the outer ear white cutouts. Paste the ears on the guinea pig’s head.
- Glue the eye patches
Take the brown eye patches and paste them below the ears on either side of the guinea pig’s face.
- Make the guinea pig’s face
To make the face of your paper guinea pig craft, glue the blush cutouts on both cheeks. Next, use a black pen to draw the eyes and the cute mouth & teeth of the guinea pig. To make it cuter, draw a small oval for a nose just above the guinea pig’s mouth.
- Make guinea pig’s legs and paws
Take the foreleg cutouts and glue small sections of paw cutouts on them. Similarly, glue the pink paw cutouts on the body cutout to make the hind legs of the guinea pig.
- Glue the brown strip on the body
Paste the brown paper strip on the body of the guinea pig, just above its legs.
- Attach forelegs to the body
Using glue, paste the outer edge of the forelegs on either side of the guinea pig’s body. We glued the forelegs only along the outer edge to keep the rest of the forelegs free and movable.
- Paste the head on the body
Lastly to complete your cute and adorable paper guinea pig craft, glue the head onto the body.
Your guinea pig animal paper craft is ready! Stick it on a popsicle stick to make it into a cute puppet for your storytelling or use it as a nifty guinea pig bookmark by sliding the page from your favourite book under its forelegs.
Quick Tip: In case you are planning to adopt a guinea pig as a pet after making this craft, we suggest getting a pair. These rodents are extremely social and get quite lonely on their own!
Encourage your children to get creative with this fun animal paper craft by choosing the colors of the guinea pig. Think of replacing brown spots with orange spots or making a black guinea pig instead of white!
