Step-by-Step Directions to Make Easy Owl Craft
1. Take construction paper in the colour of your choice and cut out a fat oval shape to make the body of your handprint craft. My kiddo chose blue.
2. To make the face of the owl, take craft paper in another contrasting color and a partial oval like shown and cut it out.
3. Paste the face cutout on the body cutout of the owl. Using scissors, cut the top blue part.
4. Trace the eyes on the handprint owl on white craft paper and cut it out. Paste it on the face of the owl.
5. Take a black sharpie and draw small eyeballs of the owl.
6. Next cut out a small yellow drop from construction paper to make the beak of the owl. Glue it on the face of the owl craft. Trace the eyes and beak using a black fine tip pen.
7. Next, trace your handprints on construction paper and cut them out. These will make the wings of the owl craft. Glue them on either side of the body of the owl.
8. Make the legs of the owl craft by tracing them on black craft paper and cut them out.
9. Glue the legs from behind the back.
10. Lastly, to make feathers use a white pen to draw wavy lines on the owl’s belly and curved lines on the handprint wings.
That’s all! Your fluffy handprint owl is ready!
We love how children can use different colours to make a snowy owl, barn owl or just any other owl that catches their fancy! The important thing is to be creative and give wings to their imagination!
